纳入重庆市“十五五”规划！这所大学要来了！
2月14日，重庆市“十五五”规划公开发布，其中明确：“支持重庆文理学院打造应用型工业大学，新增博士学位授予点，提质建设西部职教基地，争创国家产教融合试点城市。”这意味着重庆文理学院升格为“大学”已正式列入工作计划。
据重庆文理学院“十五五”发展规划编制工作专题会消息，“十四五”时期，学校提出更名为重庆工业大学，建设应用型工业大学的发展目标。
按照学校“三步走”发展规划，2023年到2028年学校核心指标达到更名大学的标准，2028年到2035年成功更名为重庆工业大学，并力争取得博士学位授予权，2035年到2050年建成国内有影响、国际知名的高水平应用型工业大学。
为此，该学校已经在“十四五”期间开展前期准备工作，并多次强调这一更名目标：重庆工业大学。
早在2024年7月16日，江津区人民政府与重庆文理学院签订战略合作协议。
此次会议的规格很高，江津区、重庆文理学院主要领导均出席了签约仪式。
校方表示，全校师生正凝心聚神、克难攻坚，加快应用型工业大学建设步伐，确保早日建成工业大学、取得博士学位授权。
江津区表示，江津区将鼎力支持重庆文理学院校区拓展、尽快实现升格为应用型工业大学的发展目标。
随后的2025年4月2日，江津区教育系统与重庆文理学院举行了工作交流座谈会。
会上，重庆文理学院与江津区教师进修学院签署了战略合作协议，并为江津中学、江津二中、聚奎中学、田家炳中学、江津六中等5所学校授牌“重庆文理学院教学实践基地”
在江津布局落地新校区、推动更名为重庆工业大学是双方共同目标。同时，对于江津来说，更是意味着将实现区内普通高校的零的突破。
公开资料显示，重庆文理学院的前身是重庆师范高等专科学校和渝州教育学院，2001年合并组建渝西学院，2005年更名为重庆文理学院。2001年获批硕士学位授权单位。
学校校园占地面积1767亩，设15个二级学院，66个本科专业，学生人数2.3万人。学校共拥有7个市级重点学科，有国家一流本科专业建设点9个，“材料科学”、“化学”、“工程学”等3个学科先后进入ESI全球排名前1%。
重庆文理学院升格为重庆工业大学，亦是契合重庆发展规划。
重庆是中西部唯一直辖市，也是中西部地区唯一GDP超3万亿元的超大城市，拥有全部31个制造业大类，智能网联新能源汽车、新一代电子信息制造、先进材料正加快成长为万亿元级产业集群。
根据国家战略定位，重庆不仅是我国传统制造重镇，更是被定位为国家重要先进制造业中心。
此次重庆文理学院打造应用型工业大学正式纳入重庆市“十五五”规划，意味着重庆文理学院升格更名为重庆工业大学这一目标正式确定，重庆工业大学有望在“十五五”期间到来。
此前，重庆科技学院、重庆三峡学院已先后成功更名为重庆科技大学、重庆三峡科技大学。
重庆文理学院更名为重庆工业大学后，将为重庆打造国家重要先进制造业中心、建成现代化工业城市提供更多的技术与人才支持。
